Edwin van Ierland leads the company's operations worldwide and is responsible for guiding iBasis’ key network operations and process decisions as the company continues to grow its solution portfolio in voice, mobile, messaging and IoT. Edwin brings to iBasis more than 30 years of experience in telecommunications dating back to his years in the Royal Netherlands Air Force where he held various staff and operational management positions with responsibility for communications infrastructure, operations and policies.

Edwin was instrumental in the consolidation and integration of the worldwide sales organizations following the multiple acquisitions of Tofane Global - Altice International Carrier Services in France, Portugal and Dominican Republic in 2018, iBasis in 2019 and NOS International Carrier Services in 2020 and Dimoco Messaging in 2023

Prior to joining iBasis in 2007 Edwin was managing director of KPN Global Carrier Services, the international voice business of Royal KPN N.V. Edwin was instrumental in the transaction between iBasis and Royal KPN N.V. that resulted in the merger of KPN Global Carrier Services into iBasis in October of 2007.

Prior to joining KPN, Van Ierland was on the management team of Schiphol Telematics, which provides voice and data services to all companies involved in aviation operations at Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands. He also spent eight years as an Air Force officer in communications and operational command and control functions in the Ministry of Defense/Royal Netherlands Air Force. Edwin Van Ierland graduated as an Airforce officer from the Royal Military Academy (Electronics) and has completed advanced study programs in Management, Business, and Information Systems
